We have now decided not to fly back from Tuktoyaktuk as was our original plan. Instead of taking such an easy method home, we are going to incorpate a 3,000km road-trip into our adventure instead!
We must still fly from Tuk to Inuvik as there is no road except in winter, but can drive all the way from Inuvik to Jasper.
The drive (according to GoogleMaps) will take around 2 days, 3hrs which is comparable to flying as there are stops and time in airports, etc. The drive looks amazing, as you cut West from Inuvik through the Mackenzie Mountains from the North West Territories into the Yukon, turn South to British Columbia, and finally move into North-West Alberta and into Jasper National Park.
It should be a great way to end the canoe trip, I am really looking forward to it.
